Bad Habits

Your speaker phone is unsatisfied,

M A G N I F Y I N G

tight throat accusations.

It is a Spanish Inquisition of exotic profanity.

I understand nothing

but a broken

m a r r i a g e

and that the office

is no place
for this public execution.

Limp

Interrupted sky.

Failed fingers

City body, blinking eyes.
Street creases.
You look tired. You look tired. You look tired.

Humming bell jar.

A pendulum
Swings
          to arrive
Swings
          to depart

A bridge is a
bandage.
Crown of horns
Bleedingcars
                   Bleedingcars

I was STRUCK by promise
and now
I walk

with a    limp.

Animalia

“Jailbait and black snakes are two things I won’t touch with a window pole”  - Breece D’J Pancake

Warm weather guests
trespass to
bathe in
radiating lakes.

Bare
skin imprinted
as if
grass
pushed back.

Sweet sweat
coconut;
she bakes.
She browns
vanilla cakes.

It took millions of         years to perfect these         hills

                                                               and they will outlive
                                                                                              our Animalia

Dynamite clouds

until it leaks
metallic streaks.

Forked tongues
strike & lick.
Heat quivers
like ribbons,

they slither.

There are
no
snake charmers
after

dark.
Just a ridge arching
its back;
fur standing
on end,
                                                      steaming.

Spam Poetry Returns!

This is a portion of a spam comment left on my music blog this week about boosting testosterone

So that first common carp

Odes to VA

Sky Writing

Sky blue
water towers
don't lie.

Danville, VA
is a world class
operation.

It is practically
written in the
sky by God.

Dick Cross
Flashing
lights.
Riding
back
roads.

Who Owns the Hands

that wishes "WASH ME"
or
Autographs paper chests
and
How dirty are they?

Low shoulders.
Dangerous curves.
Rear entry.
Safety words.

of Virginia
is less titillating
with the lights
of day on.

Rippled, cracked,
and hopelessly grey
her body is surrounded
by an orgy of
hallow brittle bones
standing bare, erect,
and motionless as if
they fell asleep
penetrating her
downward.
upon the backs of trucks

with inky uneven nipples

The Shortest Distance

A naked body
in the center of your road;

I am a dash
to your extended line

that stretches indefinitely
in opposite directions.

"It's a Perfect Day, Isn't It?"

I agreed.

"I've worked hard all my life.
It was time for me to slow down
so I sold my car a few months back
and now I take the bus
or walk places
like brunch here on Sundays."

He raised his cane from the bench
a tapped the sidewalk one.
His wooden exclamation point
ended our exchange.

I walked home.
But more slowly
that I had I left it.
